Weather the Heating Season
Do you need help managing your utility expenses this winter? Here
are some programs offered by NAED which may be of use to you:
Energy
Smart Home Residential customers can call our toll-free
Energy Hotline at 1.888.772.4242 for energy efficiency tips specific
to
your home.
The Energy Hotline is a service NAED provides so you can make decisions
about energy usage. If energy usage improvements are needed, customers
may receive an Energy Audit of their heating and hot water systems,
shell insulation, appliances, windows, doors and lighting. A specialist
in energy conservation conducts the audit and writes a report on
energy saving improvements. When you make recommended improvements
or purchase ENERGYSTAR™ appliances you may qualify for rebates.
Another way to save heating costs is to install an ENERGYSTAR programmable
thermostat. This easy conservation step can save you up to $100
a
year on your heating bill plus earn you a $30 rebate from NAED.
Call us for a rebate application.
Budget Payment Plan NAED customers
may
sign up anytime during the year to join this plan. If your account
does not have a past due balance, you can have your bill calculated
on your projected annual electric costs, which is divided into
12 equal payments. Accounts are reviewed periodically.
Residential
Assistance Electric Rate This rate is offered to customers who
may qualify if they already receive benefits or are eligible
for a low income assistance program.
Special Payment Plan Designed
to help customers pay a past due balance, this plan breaks out
your past due amount into four monthly payments to assist you in
catching
up.
Third Party Notification You can appoint a third person to
represent you to insure that your electric service is not interrupted.
This
service can give you the peace of mind that you won’t overlook
billing notices.
Good Neighbor Energy Fund This emergency assistance
fund is administered by the Salvation Army. It is available to
any Massachusetts resident who, because of financial difficulty,
cannot
meet household energy expenses and is not eligible for state
or federal energy assistance.
There are also local, state and
federal
organizations
that you may contact for assistance. To find out more, please
call 508.643.6300 or stop by NAED’s lobby at the Operations
Center, 275 Landry Avenue. Further details can be found on our
