Safety & Electrical Education Programs
Educating our children and neighbors about electric safety is NAED
foremost community service. That's why we visit North Attleborough
classrooms throughout the year and offer safety programs community-wide.

Where
the Little Light Bulb Gets Its Juice
Geared toward younger students, this video makes for a
great beginning lesson on electric power production. From
the fuel
and the generator
and to the home outlet, an animated little light bulb gives
a basic explanation of voltage and an easy-to-understand
conservation message.
Presentation time, including the video and discussion,
is 30 minutes. Activity book provided.
Electrical Safety "A
to Zap"
"Zap" is the watchword as a cartoon mouse teaches his nemesis,
the cat, a lesson in electrical safety. Also an important
lesson for children, this video illustrates many common hazards
and how
to avoid them and offers a basic explanation of electricity,
electric currents and conductors. It also answers the age-old question
of "Why
don't birds on overhead wires get zapped?" Video and
discussion time is 30 minutes.
Louie the Lightning Bug
A lively, funny musical story about a boy and his lightning
bug. Louie (whom children may recognize from TV) shows
the boy, Arnold,
everything he -- and kids everywhere -- need to know
about electrical safety. Mixed live and animated action makes
this video a sure
attention grabber. Children will laugh and maybe even
sing
along as they learn
this valuable lesson. Presentation time is one hour.
Activity book provided.
Hazard Hamlet
This remote-controlled neighborhood dramatically demonstrates
12 electrical hazards inside and outside the home.
Students will hear
the "zap!" and see the sparks fly when the
citizens of Hazard Hamlet don't follow electrical safety
rules. Completely safe,
this demonstration is fun and informative for grades
one through five and lasts approximately 40 minutes.
Electrical safety book provided.
The Shocking Truth
Youngsters will enjoy learning safety skills from two
enterprising students who are studying the nature
of electricity. This
fast paced, live-action video teaches preteen how
to spot danger
fast and avoid
injury. It also explains the difference between conduction
and insulation. Great pointers for creating A+ school
reports make
this video a teacher
favorite. Presentation time is one hour.
